Neue H O R I Z O N T E von Lotja Loon im Berlin City Center!

Review hier

New Horizons by Lotja Loon in Berlin City Center!

Art in the Mall? The Berlin City Center (BCC) under management of Hanni Fride and his team since June 2008 provides an opportunity for established and especially for new artists to present their work to a public audience. Because a mall means publicity, and even if the consumers might visit it for other reasons, it still means a chance to adjourn the everyday buying habits, the hectic and the day’s routine by an "art break". A chance to reflect and scrutinise.

Lotja Loon, a former member of the team around Neupaul Palen, has decided to stand on her own feet and her installation HORIZONTE offers an interactive visual-kinetic-sonic (vikison art) experience for the visitors; the horizons refer to Linden Lab, Second Life and ask to what extent this digital world offers new perspectives or is simply a rehash of old stereotypes.

The announced exhibition to NeuPappismo had to be cancelled because of the mental indisposement of the "Maestro", as the latter can not seem to fulfil his role as bellwether – and it be noted here that the word "bellwether" in is not being used as a dirty word, but rather as a fabulous equivalent to gender related fantasies of potency.

Until October the agency Asmita Duranjaya thus could win as a "new discovery" the former member of the team Lotja Loon, who already from time to time has contributed crucially to the mental highlights of the "Palen-team", but until now has benefited little of the publicity this generated – might this now change!

On the 15.09.2008, starting at 20.00 h (European time) will take place a Punk Art Party in the premises of the BCC, and you are asked to come in the punk outfits; music will be provided by a Punk-DJ, there will be a punk outfit contest – the best outfit will be awarded!
